Scam Sites is the sites that... well you've been hardworking in it, but suddenly the site's gone or maybe they're not paying you at all. There are several factors to know wether the site is scam or not.
1.Earn per click
Sure it is how much they pay for your clicks, let's say they pays you $0.01 per click. But they ask only $1 for 200 clicks for that advertiser. So, where do they get the other $1? They says from banner advertising, or member upgrading, or everything else, believe me, these kinds of sites will fail. Stay cautious if you want to invest or i suggest not to.
2. Forum
They have no forum? Well, where are you going to know how the site going? How can you trust the admin? From the forum of course. So, if they have no forum it is not recomended.
3.Search the internet.
Search the internet about the info of the site. Like, ptc- investigation, or scamadviser. Or search in forums you have joined, or ask it yourself.
